Gretchen's Independence
Donation protected
My good friend, likely the one person I can depend on to be there for me at any time of day or night, is painfully overwhelmed by her situation. Gretchen is a true and kind soul. She suffers from Lupus, and has suffered for many years. At this point, she has lost her hearing, her independence, and her ability to work in South Texas. She receives disability, but has paid bills for her medical expenses that would bankrupt the average person. She can no longer seek alternative and rheumatic care because Victoria lacks rheumatologists trained for her needs. It's a very small town. Gretchen isn't looking to pay back what she owes. She just wants to live her life out from under the shade of ridicule and poverty. She is willing to give up the indecency of a run-dow half converted garage (she uses an outhouse because the people housing her at a cost, refused to fully renovate) for a "tiny-home" in the form of a trailer. Now, Gretchen hates asking for help. She loathes it. It took me damn near a year to convince her to use crowdfunding. But Gretchen deserves this. From babysitting my kids, to caring for multiple other children discarded by drug abusers or in need of late care for working parents, to rescuing animals or donating what she can to charity when I asked, Gretchen is a pure soul. Through chemo treatments and organ failure, Gretchen has remained spirited and calm. She's beautiful. Her story is beautiful. She is deserving of so much more than I can give her. Please help me raise the funds to buy her a tiny trailer for her and her blind poodle to live and enjoy so she can be truly independent again.
