As many of you may know, Maddie Pifer (age 20) has been diagnosed with Provakable Nuero-Cardiogenic Syndrome with both cardioinhibitory & vasodepressor components. In short, she experiences daily frequent fainting episodes ranging from 2-4 minutes at a time, 3-7 times a day. She has been through countless tests and different combinations of medications, but is still working to find a solution. She will be attending classes online this fall, but is hoping to return to Franklin College (& the tennis courts!) for the second semester with the help of an Emotional Support Dog.
Some incredibly kind friends have agreed to donate an Australian Shepherd puppy for this purpose. (Thank you!) This dog could alert Maddie when she is getting ready to faint, stay with her while she is "out"and help her to come around as she wakes back up. This will go a long way towards Maddie regaining some of her independence.
The dog will need to be professionally trained, spayed
and current on all vaccines, etc. If you would like to donate towards these costs, Maddie and her family would be very grateful as she has been unable to drive or work for over 6 months. And as a result of numerous doctor visits and testing, the bills continue to accumulate.
Thank you and please continue to keep Maddie in your prayers.
