I sat down with the Westside Chapel Funeral Home today at 11:00 a.m regarding my grandma’s memorial. The cheapest amount we were able to negotiate on was 5,344$ for the full service not including plot fees (but thankfully we were able to buy a plot next to her sister Brenda for 750$ up front at Oakland Baptist Church which is a good deal compared to the 2600$ plot they wanted us to purchase initially in Morristown) that being said. Me and my fiancé Sabrina work at Waffle House part time ever since I started school at TCAT. I’m going to do everything in my power to get this paid for and give her the memorial service she deserves regardless because there’s simply no one else there to do it. We are a small family on my grandmas side, there’s about 5 of us total now that are immediate family members and 3 out of those 5 people are on supplemental income and disability. I made a comment on the initial post with our PayPal that has received up to 175$ we have gathered so far which is a blessing. I wanted to make an official gofundme so I can be more transparent with the costs and receipts where the money is going instead of just PayPal and Cashapp now that we have an official agreement with the funeral home (they accept donations directly via phone call as well).
