FBLA National Leadership Conference Competitions

Hi, my name is Camryn Somerville and with my team, Paula Bostelman, and Abigail Hanna, we are being sent to the national competition for our business plan. I am fundraising to seize the incredible opportunity that I have earned to attend the National Leadership Conference for my high school's Future Business Leaders of America chapter. My team and I attended our district competition and placed 1st for our business plan. We are creating a business to produce an eco-friendly alternative to single-use plastic cups. Our cup will be biodegradable and have an adhesive strip on the side containing seeds of non-invasive species that will grow into breathtaking greenery under the right conditions. We then moved on to the state-wide competition with the same potential company and placed 2nd in the state. The top 4 places from the state competition are invited to attend the national competition in Chicago, Illinois, where we will compete again, gain possible investors for our business, and get some publicity for our product. We are incredibly passionate about this company and helping our environment. We have been setting up meetings with local business mentors who have been critiquing our business plan presentation and our business plan report and helping us make this dream a reality. Our school district is helping get us all to the national competition, but there are 8 students from Fruita Monument High School attending the conference and we are each responsible for raising $600 per person. Fundraising from this gofundme will go toward travel costs and meals while in Chicago, . There is a fee for registration to be able to compete at the conference in addition to a colorado package covering costs of our chapters supplies and materials for the conference.
