Hi there, my name is Ailsa from Canada and I am taking over this link after the previous account runner had to step away due to personal reasons. Zahra’s story is below.
My name is Zahra, I am 18 years old and am stuck in the Gaza Strip. I am married to my husband Adnan and we recently had a baby girl named Eileen. The pregnancy was exhausting and difficult as I face famine, displacement, extreme weather, dehydration, stress, and had to birth Eileen without anesthesia or medicine.
I discovered I was pregnant on August 8th, 2024, but just 10 days later my family was senselessly martyred by the occupation. Videos serviced online of the aftermath, one clip filmed by the late journalist Hassan Hamad showing my grandmother, who raised me, decapitated amidst the rubble, and my baby niece being pulled from the wreckage. My sister was also killed in this attack. Another video showed my brother, bloody and being pulled from the rubble and put on a stretcher. He was the sole survivor but he lost both of his legs and some of his fingers.
I am now with him in the north of Gaza.
Everyone has lost someone, including my husband, Adnan, who lost many friends and family members, including his second cousin, who was playing in the streets when he got decapitated by shrapnel. The video of his body being carried with a tarp over him was uploaded to the Internet and got many views, and there was another video of Adnan‘s cousin, which was the father of the boy, crying as he saw his son decapitated.
I fear that my child will face the same fate and I am desperately asking for your help to provide funds for food and necessities for me and my family.
Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to my story and thank you for your support.
Please help me support my family as we endure the starvation and bombardment of the Israeli occupation. All proceeds will go directly to essentials such as food, clean water, medicine, diapers and clothing, all of which are difficult to find and very expensive. Thank you so much for your support and compassion ❤️ every bit counts
