One week ago tonight Sierra was in a horrific car accident. She doesn't remember exactly what happened. All she knows for sure is she wasn't on her phone and she was wearing her seatbelt. When the paramedics arrived they thought she was dead. Her car was demolished and they used the jaws of life to cut her out. The first photos of her accident are too gruesome to share. Miraculously, her injuries are not life threatening but they are extensive and her recovery will be long. She broke her right femur, right ankle, her orbital bone above her left eye, cut her eyelid on the left as well, and has a ton of bruising all over. She has had two surgeries so far -a rod inserted in her leg to stabilize the femur and screws in her ankle today, she is looking at another surgery next week to put a plate in above her eye. She will have medical bills and will be out of work for several weeks (maybe longer). When she is able to leave the hospital she will head to a rehab facility for a few weeks. Her Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome complicates her recovery even further. With no money coming in her savings will deplete quickly. She will also need another car so she can get herself to work. If you know Sierra you know she hates relying on others to care for her. Sierra is a warrior and deals with pain every day of her life due to her EDS. She has dealt with more physical suffering in her 23 years than most people do in a lifetime. She is the strongest person I know and somehow manages to smile and keep her sense of humor through it all. We appreciate your support and prayers more than you know.
