On the night of August 31, 2025, a powerful 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan, devastating the provinces of Nangarhar and Kunar. Entire villages were reduced to rubble. More than 800 lives have been lost, with thousands injured and countless families left without shelter, food, or medical care.
