We are raising funds to bring our Lucky Penny, an incredible 3-legged rescue dog, to the United States from Jordan.
We understand that there are many dogs that need homes right here. As a Return Peace Corps Volunteer who served in Jordan I witnessed first hand what happens to dogs there. It's horrific, angering, and sad. Since Penny (named Princess originally) was found, we felt called to her. Luckily, there are amazing humans like those of the Malath-Canaan Rescue.
Penny was found on a highway with her leg run over. Cars were flying by and not stopping. Then someone attached to the rescue organization rescued her, and that started her journey. She wasn't supposed to survive (sepsis, parvo and so much more) but with the veterinarians and others, she pulled through and is thriving.
I rescued a dog when I served in the Peace Corps and had to put her down two months ago (after 15 great years) . Our family was crushed, as was her fur sister (another rescue from this organization) Bella. We know the Canaan breed well. And we know, Penny is meant to be with us.
The cost breakdown to bring her here:
-Serology test: $350
-Flight, microchip and shipping papers cost: $2100
-CDC & LAX airport boarding / vet cost: approx $1800
Total: $4,250
Any amount helps tremendously. Thank you.
