My name is Esin, and I am raising money to support my sister Fatma's fight against cancer. Fatma has always been so brave and courageous despite the tragedy of her beautiful daughter becoming very sick and left with severe lifelong disability. Fatma is the crazy mummy who has always gone above and beyond for her daughter and her son, to make life fun even when it seems impossible, together with her friends and carers. They say that lightening doesn't strike twice in the same place. And this is why we were absolutely devastated and shocked when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021. Not long after, she had the cancerous lump removed, followed by radiotherapy to her chest. Fatma was given the all clear and was to take a cancer prevention medicine for the next 10 years. In the true Fatma spirit she went full steam ahead loving life even more than ever before. Taking care of her family as well as herself. Making the most of every moment, she even started weight lifting as a part of her keep fit. A year later she felt very tired with more aches and pains than usual. Leading a challenging life she did have a lot of wear and tear to her little frame, just under 5ft, the Drs said it is probably just down to the cancer drugs you are on. But when she broke a toe followed by her rib, we thought it's a bit strange. The Drs agreed to run some bloods. They showed bone cell activity. A follow up scan of her whole skeleton was done. Our whole world came crashing down when we were told that her cancer had returned and spread throughout her bones. Fatma was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Terminal Breast Cancer with an expected life span of 4 years.
Fatma's protocol of medication was changed. She had to have emergency radiotherapy to prevent her spine from collapsing. After her recovery from this difficult time, she got back on her feet, loving life and taking our breath away with her bravery.
Fatma has been told that these drugs she is on are usually effective for 2 years. That's 2 years of a 4 year life expectancy.
Fatma is the soul of her family, the lifeline. Her daughter Leyla needs her she is 21 but with her life long disability she needs her more than any young adult ever could. Her son Jeyan is only 17 and will need his mother beside him for many many years to come .
And I, I need her. I don't know what I'd do without my sister. Words cannot even describe how I feel.
We now want to throw everything possible at this. Holistic, non harmful therapy such as Bariatric Oxygen therapy, IV vitamin infusions, acupuncture and anything else that may be able to help her thrive and be happy.
If you would like to help support her in her journey to help give her the best chance at life, you can donate on this page I have set up.
I'd like to thank you all in advance from the bottom of my heart.
Please share this post far and wide since every little helps.
