Fatima’s Severe covid19 Rehabilitation

On October 21, 2020, my daughter Fatima was admitted to Providence Hospital Memorial Campus in El Paso, TX with severe symptoms of covid19

On October 25, 2020, Fatima went into hypoxemic respiratory failure needing non-invasive mechanical ventilation to increase her chances of survival. Doctors did not give us a promising future but my daughter beat covid19 against all odds. I can only say we had many people praying for my daughter’s health, and her being here with us is truly a miracle.

Her discharge diagnosis on November 3, 2020 was: Acute Hypoxemic Respiratory Failure due to covid19. She was scared to leave the hospital because she will need to use oxygen for a few weeks after discharge. I was not able to be there to hug her because I am also considered high risk. 

My daughter Fatima needs rehabilitation therapy and assistance with activities of daily living for at least 2 months that are not covered by insurance and are expensive due to the fact that Fatima is a covid19 survivor and the people assisting her will need extra precautions to tend to her. 

My daughter has been an amazing human being, she is loving, caring and she never doubts to help others in need. Fatima has looked after me for many years and because I am disabled, I am not able to return some of the unconditional love she has provided me all these years to tend to her. This is the reason I need your help to look after my daughter with the same love she transmit to everyone she meets.

Before covid19, Fatima had a bright future. She had just graduated from Pharmacy School with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.  Now her professional goals will have to wait for a while until she is 100% back to being herself.
