Fatima's Car Replacement and Hakeem Recovery Fund

Dear community,

My sister and I (Mounia & Sarah) are fundraising on behalf of our mother and brother, Fatima and Hakeem O’Neal.

On July 17th, Hakeem O’Neal, was seriously injured in a car accident that left him with severe injuries to his jaw, neck, and spine. His injuries have required several surgeries already and many more months of care for him to fully recover. This accident and the suffering it has caused Hakeem has severely shaken Fatima and destabilized her world. On top of this, the accident has put a significant financial strain on our family, as now both my mother and brother are out of work in order to help him recover and are living without any form of stable income. The expenses and lack of income that have ensued since the accident have led us to realize that we need the support of our community in order to be stable and get through the next few months of recovery.

This fundraiser will cover the cost of purchasing a car so Fatima can commute and begin to work again, support Fatima through the many months of care that will be needed for her son to make a full recovery, and ensure the loss of three months of work won’t pummel Fatima into debt.
