Help us get to Kayla's graduation from UCLA

We’re on a mission to raise $3K to keep this family housed and get dad and 4 daughters together to celebrate Kayla's graduation from UCLA!!!. Thank you for being on this journey with us!

What would you do if you were out of work, out of money and you’re a single parent raising your daughters and trying to gain custody of your only son?

What would you do if your ex reneged on sharing custody of your son?

Answer: You would do absolutely anything in your power to raise the funds to make it happen.

We never thought we’d be here—asking for help from strangers—but this is our reality now. And it’s urgent. We've avoided eviction! Our focus is now getting to Kayla's graduation!

Jason is a devoted father of five: a FIDM graduate, a brilliant daughter about to graduate from UCLA, two teenage girls still in high school, and a 5-year-old son with autism who survived 8 hours of open-heart surgery at just 3 days old. Jason has always been the one to hold everyone together. But right now, he's fighting to keep them united—and stay present for his kids.

Despite holding an associate degree, HR certifications, and a sharp mind for accounting, Jason has hit an impossible wall in today’s economy. Contract work dried up, job offers have stalled, and with no unemployment or financial safety net, it got scary! A new job is starting in time to keep us housed but short of attending Kayla's graduation.

He’s trying to hold on for his girls, for his son, and to somehow get to UCLA June 13th to see Kayla walk across that stage—a moment he’s dreamed of since she was little.

But we’re out of time.

We’re on the edge of losing housing. The risk of Jason’s daughters entering foster care is real. And he could lose what little custody he has left of the son he adores if he can’t stabilize his life.

This isn’t just about one rent payment. It’s about giving this family a future—keeping a family together, keeping daughters in school and out of the system, and giving a 5-year-old autistic boy his dad back.
Please, if you can help with any amount, or even just share this story, you’ll be part of a family’s chance at staying together.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

UPDATE 5/2/25
Update: Court relieved some pressure this week in recognizing the imputation error that was costing $1105/month in Child Support. $638 I believe will be the new number starting May 22nd. The bigger goal of getting more time with my son than 2 hours supervised a week will take more time. They require I complete a mental health evaluation for $750, which I don't have now. Soon as I can get that done, they will review those findings and hopefully, finally, come to the conclusion that I deserve 50/50 time with my son. After successfully raising four amazing daughters, I would like to believe they already have all the evidence they need, but alas, they're requiring all the things.

I've got 4 promising interviews scheduled this coming week. I just need one offer though! :-) I truly appreciate you helping reach these financial goals to reunite me with my boy, keep us together as a family and get through this tough economy. Please continue to pray and share the message. https://gofund.me/9445efc6

UPDATE 5/5/25
Two of three Controller interviews today went really well. One for an electrician company I should hear back later this week about either an offer or a final interview. The other, a sheet metal company, sounds like a slower process, stretching out two to three weeks; but I think their CPAs were very interested in me today.
Tomorrow is an interview as Controller for a pool company. Fingers crossed. I had reached out to the owners last week to discuss the role and provide my consultative advice on their software conversion. Apparently, well received, they requested the interview Sunday evening, for tomorrow. I would be thrilled with any of the three. I pray for an offer before Friday so I don't have to act on faith and renew our lease without a job in hand.
I'm grateful for the support to date. It's been helpful putting food on the table and holding on to enough to buy those plane tickets to Kayla's graduation. I perish the thought of not landing any of these jobs and having to use the money to move out, be un-housed and not knowing what to do. Thank you all for the kind words. Please continue to spread the word and donate... we've still got car insurance, rent, Jasmon's root canals, utilities and more to pay for. Not to mention being able to see JJ with supervised visits or paying $750 for the mental health assessment for the court to prove I deserve to have shared custody of him.

UPDATE 6/4:
I took a job paying 50% of what I was earning just to be able to keep a roof over our heads. I'm still interviewing and a finalist for 3 jobs within range of my old wages, so life will get back to normal in a couple months.
