Father, Son, and Medical Student Fighting Cancer

Hello, we are currently doing this fundraiser for our family friend, Roberto Castro.  He suffers from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and his insurance no longer covers his full treatments because his cancer has become very strong and only covered the treatment of 3 weeks. This treatment is considered the strongest of all in the IMSS and therefore what he was relying on failed. At the IMSS they only offer him palliative treatment where it would only be to give him 6 months - 1 year of life, but he deserves the opportunity to continue fighting by having more of the full treatments. 

By consulting a second opinion, he was offered a treatment that has given excellent results in patients with advanced leukemias and the objective of this is to be able to achieve remission again for transplantation. However, this treatment is extremely expensive, it amounts to more than 1 million pesos. Costs that are impossible for him to cover. The drug is called blinatumomab and each vial has a cost of 33,602.22 pesos, he needs 28. Giving a total of 940,862.16 pesos, this is more due to the cost of private hospitalization (since the insurance could not be applied to him), which would go from 15 to 30 days. And unfortunately, it is not accessible to him, since he does not have the resources to pay for it.

Also, as some know, he is a father of a family, he is happily married and has a baby of barely a year that I long to see grow up. Both his wife and son depend on him, and in his current condition he cannot work or have formal employment.

Hola, soy Roberto Castro, tengo Leucemia Linfoblástica Aguda y el día de hoy fui desahuciado en el seguro, pues el cáncer se ha vuelto muy fuerte y soportó un tratamiento de 3 semanas, tratamiento considerado el más fuerte de todos en el IMSS y por ende la única opción que me quedaba y que básicamente, fracasó. En el IMSS únicamente me ofrecen un tratamiento paliativo en dónde solo sería para darme 6 meses - 1 año de vida, pero yo quiero vivir, quiero seguir luchando y tengo mis motivos.

Consultando una segunda opinión se me ofrece un tratamiento que ha dado excelentes resultados en pacientes con leucemias avanzadas y el objetivo se éste, es poder volver alcanzar la remisión para trasplantarme. Sin embargo, este tratamiento

es sumamente costoso. Demasiado. Y básicamente asciende a más de 1 millón de pesos. Costos que son imposibles de cubrir para mí. El medicamento se llama blInatumomab y cada ampolleta tiene un costo de $33,602.22, necesito 28. Dando así un total de $940,862.16, esto más obviamente el costo de hospitalización particular (ya que en el seguro no se me podrían aplicar), que iría de 15 a 30 días. Lo que puede hacer una cuenta que puede ir de los 100,000 hasta los 250,000 pesos. Y obviamente no es para mí accesible, pues no cuento con el recurso para costearlo.

Además, cómo algunos saben, soy padre de familia, estoy felizmente casado y tengo un bebé de a penas un año al cual añoro ver crecer, tanto mi esposa como mi hijo dependen de mi, y en mi condición actual no puedo laborar ni tener un empleo formal por mi condición, y ellos dependen de mi.

Amigos, por favor. Suplico, de verdad, desde lo más profundo de mi corazón y mi ser. ¡AYÚDENME! Quiero vivir, quiero seguir luchando, quiero acabar mi carrera, envejecer al lado de mi esposa, ver a mi hijo crecer, ver las canas de mi madre, quiero vencer al cáncer y poder vivir como el padre, esposo, hijo, amigo, y futuro médico que soy.

No les pido los millones, con lo que sea que puedan apoyarme $10, $20, $50, $100, lo que sea con lo que puedan apoyarme, de verdad es de mucha ayuda, me da muchísima pena, pero, necesito su apoyo una vez más. ¡QUIERO VIVIR!
