FATHER SHOT IN HEAD WITH CROSSBOW

This past Monday night, on the way home from work, Benny was riding his bike as he has done for the past 2 years that he has been employed as a Maintenance worker at the Holiday Inn Resort, in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.  Unfortunately, this was like no other bike ride home.  When Benny noticed a pickup truck behind him, he pulled to the side of the road so it could pass.  The truck slowed down and shot Benny in the head with a crossbow, then raced off.  Not realizing fully what just happened, Benny grabbed a towel from his pocket and put it to his head, wiping blood that would not stop gushing out.  He thought they threw something at him until the police arrived and found the arrow that skated down the side of his head, hitting a main artery. 

Benny was rushed to the ER and taken in for surgery immediately.  Benny is a dedicated worker, a loving father and husband and the type of guy that would give you his last meal if you were hungry.  Due to the recent furloughs of Covid-19, Benny lost his health insurance temporarily.  He had returned to work, however, the insurance would not be effective until July.  He is now facing even more time off of work and exuberant ER bills.  While one of the men responsible for this disgusting act has been apprehended, the other is still out there. 

As Benny's co-workers and peers, we are reaching out to the community to help Benny and his family during this difficult time with the financial burden of more time from work and hospital bills.  Any little bit helps and we know how appreciative Benny and his family would be.
