Update February 25, 2024:
Hi All- This is Kaley, Taylor’s sister. I wanted to update everyone as I flew down last minute to see Taylor and my family this past Wednesday/Thursday. I think it was a quick refreshing change for all of us to be together.

Taylor is still in the hospital from his last surgery on 2/1. During the surgery they cleaned up an infection/wound he’s been battling for the last 6+ months and removed scare tissue from previous surgeries. They also planned to remove some cancerous lesions on his liver, but when they opened him up they saw a few new lesions on his abdominal wall. The surgeon decided not to remove any of the lesions (the ones on the liver or abdominal wall) as that would lead to a longer recovery, more time off chemo, and potentially allow more spots to pop up. The surgeon was hoping for a quick recovery so Taylor could get back on chemo asap.

However, while recovering, Taylor’s heart rate went way up due to dehydration so they pumped him with a ton of fluids. That helped his heart rate, but then made him so swollen he was in pain. They needed to get all the fluids out before he could go home. While waiting for that, he developed another wound on his chest/abdomen and another pretty bad infection. He’s now receiving multiple antibiotics, wound care, and has a wound vacuum to help clear everything out. They still aren’t sure what the source is of the wound/infection so TBD on what happens with that, but he’ll need to stay on antibiotics for a while. Taylor is now working to wean off pain meds and IV meds so he can hopefully go home within the next week. He’ll have to go home with the wound vac and continue to go back to the wound specialist at the hospital 2x a week to change out the wound dressing and vac.

Next Steps:
We’re all anxiously awaiting to hear what Taylor’s next steps will be once he’s out of the hospital. The latest CT scan that he just had while in the hospital showed that his liver tumors have grown in the last 7 weeks since he’s been off chemo. So Taylor and Suray will be figuring out what’s next for Tay’s fight against cancer.

We appreciate everyone’s kindness, thoughts, and prayers. Please continue to pray for Taylor, Suray, and the girls. My mom and Dad have been taking care of the girls and trying to keep their routine as normal as possible while Suray takes care of Taylor 24/7.

Unfortunately, Taylor has been unable to work since he’s been in the hospital and he is the sole provider for their family right now, so they are without an income currently. They have one working car and it’s become unreliable and is on its last leg. All support and funds go straight to Suray and Taylor’s account, every single dollar. The funds are used to cover simple necessities and daily bills. They will never ask for help. Suray and Taylor are so appreciative of everyones support and are so thankful for everyones help during this time.

Hi, this is my best friend Suray, her husband Taylor and their two beautiful daughters. Suray and Taylor met while Suray was visiting the United States. They quickly fell in love. Suray moved to the US where they got married and started their beautiful family together. In August, Taylor went to the hospital with severe pain. He was later diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer. He completed four rounds of chemo and then in March he had a 15 hour surgery to remove the tumor and all of the cancer nodules. There were complications post surgery, sending him back to the emergency a couple of times. Through it all, Suray was his full time care giver while working and taking care of their two daughters. Both Suray and Taylor maintained such a positive attitude throughout it all, it was quite inspiring. Only three months post surgery, with very little time to adjust and recover, Taylor was rushed back to the hospital with a bowel obstruction. A CT scan confirmed that the cancer had made its way to his liver. After all that they had already been through, this was devastating news. Taylor will need to start a more agressive chemo treatment for the next few months in hopes that it doesn't grow or spread any further and then undergo another surgery. Taylor's hasn't worked since his surgery in March and will not be able to return to work until he completes the next rounds of chemo and recovers for the next surgery that follows. Suray works as a caregiver to two young children which does not provide any benefits. She has already taken time off of work during Taylor's surgery and recovery and has had to return to work in order to continue paying their expenses. The thought of leaving Taylor alone, is terrifying. This is why I am asking for help, on behalf of their family. Any amount that you can offer, would go to them so that Suray can be by Taylor's side while he undergoes treatment as well as help with the mounting hospital/medical bills. Thank you all and may you be blessed.
