Father of Five Fights Cancer

Recently my incredible son-in-law, Andrew, has been very unwell. All the relevant tests were taken, and he has been diagnosed with cancer.

At 43, he is a hard-working husband to my beautiful daughter Bec and a father to five incredible children, three under the age of eight. Prior to his illness, he was an avid home cook, marathon runner, and regular volunteer for his local Park Run.

Before the diagnosis, he was working as a carpenter and the primary earner of the family.

Bec and Andrew have chosen to be transparent and vulnerable with the community as they know life is a gift and right now will need all the love, prayers, and support on offer.

They value modern medicine and are seeking the best line of treatment available for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (a malignant cancer of the lymphatic system) stage two, which has a 5-year survival rate of 74% (cancer.org). We believe with the right treatment Andrew will fully recover and be back to his previous energy levels and Superdad status in no time.

Unfortunately, with Andrew unable to work due to chemotherapy and the debilitating nature of his disease, we are in need of additional financial support to keep them afloat until he recovers.

Bec and the family are deeply humbled by the way the community has rallied around them so far, with meals, services, and babysitting. Andrew’s eldest two children Caleb and Ebonie both shaved their heads in solidarity with their dad.

The financial support from family is incredibly generous but not quite enough to get them through the next six months. We need an extra $25,000 to cover costs.
