Hi, my name is Emily Cline Holcomb. It’s with a heavy heart, that I’m here raising money to help the family of Mauro Rosalino Gonzalez with his funeral expenses and family support, while they grieve the loss of their beloved father and husband. Mauro Rosalino Gonzalez,39, of Greenfield, Indiana, was tragically killed in a car accident on Saturday, May 14 in Hancock County Indiana while on his way to work. This is a shocking and devastating blow to our entire family, but especially for his wife, Valerie, and the 5 children he leaves behind. He was originally from Oaxaca, Mexico and came here in his teens looking for a better life for himself and his family. I can only imagine how hard and scary it would be to leave your entire family behind and move to a totally different country, that speaks a different language, where you don’t know anyone, knowing you will have to face ignorance and racism from many people, on the hopes of a better life for yourself and your family. This is what Mauro did. He came here and worked A LOT!, eventually meeting his wife and starting their family. He was an amazing provider and the hardest working person that Ive ever known. He was always willing to help his family any way he could. Usually working 3-4 jobs at the same time to be able to provide his family with the best life that he possibly could. It was a very proud moment for him and our family when after years of hard work, he finally received his United States citizenship in 2019. He loved his family very much and worked very hard to give them a good life. Sadly their time together was cut tragically short and their lives will never be the same. His wife has always been a stay at home mom, so this is going to be a big change for her and take some time to adjust to. But they need to grieve first. Their world has been turned upside down. It breaks my heart to think about what they’re going through and the added stress it’s causing her to have to worry about how she will be able to manage things and give their kids what they need when it doesn’t even seem real yet. I want to help them, but I can’t do it alone, so I’m here asking you to please help them if you can. All money will go towards funeral costs and help cover living expenses while they grieve and adjust to life after this life shattering event. Any amount helps and is greatly appreciated.
