Father of 4, Anthony Bass, ST 4 Stomach Cancer

My husband Anthony Bass was diagnosed with gastric cancer at stage 4 on May 5th, 2022. We originally planned for a total gastrectomy on May 25th, 2022, and it was abruptly aborted because they said it had spread to the peritoneal and lungs.

This further complicated our treatment options, and GI bleeding with blood clots in both lungs and legs began to arise. In addition, he developed severe anemia and has required blood transfusions almost every other day while on an oxygen tank.

 

The only chance we have at beating this cancer is radiation/chemotherapy and possibly a gastrectomy once the cancer is stable and not growing. This experience has genuinely shook our family to its core, feeling like the wind has been knocked out of us and that our world has honestly stopped. They gave us a cancer diagnosis and a death sentence to follow, but we are returning it right back, for we know that we walk by faith and not by sight. We are determined and ready to fight with everything we have, and we have absolute confidence in Anthony that this will be his most significant testimony to share with the world.

 

 

Anthony is a family-oriented man, a fantastic husband and a loving father with a deep passion for fishing and cooking. Outside of his family, Anthony is known for his leadership, patience and encouragement to his peers. He has an entire community who wants him here for as long as we can have him and we need your support to help that happen. With the funds that we raise we will be able to pay for medical expenses and sustain our family's financial obligations while me and my husband are both out of work due to the cancer diagnosis.
