Father of 2 With Heart Failure Needs Help
Donation protected
I'm telling the story of my son. His name is Tony and he is a veteran and a single father of two wonderful boys; Austin is 15 and Sean is 13. They do everything they can to help, but in the long run, they're still kids. Tony was originally diagnosed with liver failure. He started taking medicine for that and was feeling a little better. Then he was diagnosed with blood cancer. Again, he was being a strong, capable father that he is and was doing his best to make life as normal as possible for his kids. All of a sudden a couple weeks ago (March 2021), he was having trouble breathing. We finally convinced him to go to the ER. There he was diagnosed with heart failure! This is very serious and they put a Life Vest on him . That is to shock his heart to restart it if it stops beating. Then, last week he started having tremendous pain on the side of his chest. Obviously that was terrifying. He went back to the hospital again. This time they told him he has a blood clot in his heart. They managed to clear that out (thank God), but he still had the pain. After some more tests, they found he has blood clots in his lung - that's what is causing the pain. They are pumping him full of blood thinners, but so far it doesn't appear to be working. On top of all this, his short term disability is not paying him yet - one of the hospitals won't release his medical records (if you want to know which one, just ask). Without the records, they don't have any proof that he's been in the hospital. So, rent won't get paid, he will lose his car and won't be able to afford his medicine. I am taking care of his two sons, so food isn't an issue. Most of life changes will become an issue if he can't get his disability to pay pretty soon. This is a life changing diagnosis and we are doing the best we can under the circumstances, but we sure could use some help. Thank you in advance, we appreciate anything you can do. God Bless.
