Born into a modest family in Kerala, India; Janeesh (37 yrs) had to drop out of high school to take care of his Mother. Though he could not complete his education, due to his hard work & sincerity , he was able to own a small business to support his family.
He first underwent treatment for a minor stroke at a public (government) hospital but he was administered wrong medication due to the oversight/negligence of the staff & the doctors which led to complications in his Kidney. The public hospital doctors refused to take ownership of their incorrect treatment but instead gave up on his treatment & informed his family that nothing can be done to save him. His family did not give up hope and had his transferred to a private hospital though they had limited funds & the public hospital staff refused to give a discharge summary. Given the urgency and having none around to guide them on the process, his family rushed him to a private hospital to save his life.
Post this incident with treatment in the private hospital, he was out of critical condition; but this ended up costing him 2 years where he was paralyzed. Since then, he has regained motion on his hands and is now able to walk with a slight limp.
After all this, he still suffered various health issues which his primary physician brushed aside thinking they were the after effects of the stroke which will eventually reduce. His concerned wife decided to get a scan done, they found that one of his kidney's had failed completely & the other one was half-functional.
A father of a 5 year old daughter and the sole bread winner of the family (Mom, wife & daughter); Janeesh is currently undergoing dialysis 4 times a week (4 hours/session) just to stay alive. The doctor's recommendation is for him to get a kidney transplant done asap. There's no donor match in his family unfortunately and is in need of funds to pay for his donor & the surgery which is estimated to cost INR 20-22 Lacs ($30,000 - $32,000).
Janeesh is my husband's neighbor, they grew up together and we appreciate any help, every contribution counts!
