A Father’s Fight Against Cancer – Please Help Me Stay Strong for My Family

Story:

My name is Allan. I’m a husband, a father, and someone who has been fighting to hold my life together for the people I love.

In December 2024, I was diagnosed with colon cancer. Not long after, I underwent major surgery where 30 centimeters of my colon were removed. The recovery was painful and slow, but I kept going because my family needed me.

What followed was 6 months of chemotherapy.

During that time, my body began to change in ways I never expected. I lost my sense of taste. I lived with constant exhaustion. I developed severe nerve damage—pins and needles, electric shock pains running through my body, and a level of discomfort that made it impossible to sit, lie down, or even sleep properly.

There were nights I didn’t sleep at all.

Still, I kept trying to push forward.

But everything began to fall apart.

Because of my condition, I was unable to continue working. The financial support I depended on was taken away at the worst possible time, and suddenly I found myself unable to provide for my family when they needed me most.

We began to struggle.

I tried to rebuild in the only way I could—I started baking and selling homemade cakes, hoping to create something from home despite my condition. But my health kept getting worse, and I simply couldn’t keep it going.

Now, after ongoing pain and new symptoms, doctors have found an abnormality. I am currently waiting for a biopsy, and there is a strong possibility that the cancer has returned.

This is the moment I feared most.

I am often dizzy, in pain, and physically unable to commit to regular work. While our mortgage is currently being covered through insurance, even that support may not last, and we are already falling behind on other essential expenses.

I have sold personal belongings just to keep us afloat.

As a father and a husband, this has been one of the most difficult things to accept—not the pain, but the feeling that I cannot protect and provide for my family the way I once could.

That is why I am asking for help.
