Father fired after being assaulted by the police!

Donation protected
This incident involved my neighbor, Darnay Cockrell, who contacted the Mesa, AZ police after his daughter's mother reappeared after three years and abducted their child. He was outside when the officer arrived, but instead of receiving assistance, the situation escalated.

The officer instructed Darnay to sit on the ground, but he declined due to being in a heightened emotional state. Despite no crime having occurred, the officer persisted with these demands. Darnay refused to get on the ground due to a recent surgery and ongoing knee issues.

My neighbor eventually complied when the officer told him to sit on his car. However, when a female officer arrived, the situation escalated further as they attempted to unlawfully detain him. Eventually, other officers arrived and Darnay was let out of the cuffs. Ultimately, the police located the child and returned her to him.

Following the video going viral and its coverage in the news, Darnay lost his job because he was wearing the company’s shirt when this occurred. They blamed it on “cut backs”.

I did this to help him pay bills and continue to take care of his daughter.
