Father and Veteran In Need of Heart Transplant

My name is Hector Fernandez. I am a father of 4 children (2 attend Clearwater High School & our 10 year old attends St. Cecelia Interparochial School in Clearwater, FL) and husband to my wonderful wife, Amy. I am a  Citadel 1994 graduate, U.S. Army Veteran and was the main income earner of the family. For 10 years I served as an officer in the infantry and deployed to several combat zones betwen 1994-2004. 7 years ago, I learned I had a congenital heart defect (LMNA Gene mutation) that slowly progressed to the point of where I am in need of a heart transplant. For the past month I have been at the Tampa General Hospital Coronary ICU connected to a heart pump. My disease has progressed to the point that I will not be able to go home until I get a heart transplant.

Because of COVID restrictions my kids are not allowed to visit, and I miss them dearly. I am starting this GoFundme campaign to help us pay for medical bills not covered by insurance as well as Amy's travel expenses to the hospital. This campaign will also go to financially assist my family in the event I do not get a heart in time. I appreciate any prayers and assistance you can provide. Thank you.
