Hi, my name is Pauline Kong, I work as an Intensive Care nurse at the Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH). In addition to being an ICU nurse, I am also a magician/producer by the name of Fate.

My last production, "Fate- An Evening of Magical Wonders", was a magic show held at Michael J. Fox Theatre in 2014, which successfully raised over $10,000 for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. BC Children's Hospital saved my life when
I was diagnosed with appendicitis and sepsis.
As an ICU nurse, I frequently witness families struggle when their beloved family members are in ICU. Often, all they wish for is one last chance to spend time with their critically ill family member doing something special. It could be one last memory with their elderly parents who raised them or one special day before their child passes away in their arms.
My colleagues and I will try everything we can to grant them their wishes. However, the biggest obstacle to our commitment is the lack of funding. Government funding will only ensure that medical equipment and professional care are readily available, yet it is the community and donor support that can help make these "last wishes" come true for the ICU patients and their families.
Building on the success of the first magic show, I am proud to present another magic show to raise money for the Surrey Memorial’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This exciting event will be held on April 8th, 2018 at River Rock Theater in Richmond, BC.
As a final note, the highlight of this year’s event is the calibre of guest performers who will be entertaining our audience of more than 1000.
