Help raise money for our dissertation short films!

Hi there. My name is Sam. I’m one of the resident Directors / Producers in my production company ‘Fated’. For my dissertation year, I have to create three short films. They each cover different themes, ranging from depression, bullying, transphobia, and mental health to a more immersive view on the topic of psychopathy and what goes on in the mind of a serial killer.

As generous and well equipped as the university are in terms of the equipment they have, the budget for these films must be sourced by ourselves. This budget is needed, in my case, for things like costumes, fake blood and location rental etc. As much as I hate asking such things, this unfortunately means that I have to ask for some help in raising some money. I estimate that I should need roughly £200 per project, meaning I’m hoping to find £600 total across all three projects. The more I manage to raise, the more resources that I can dedicate to each of these elements of my films, including the accompanying score, costumes, SFX makeup etc.

It is due to this that I have created a GoFundMe to raise the necessary funds for my projects.

You may be wondering something along the lines of ‘okay, so I might want to donate to you, but what’s in it for me?’. A very good question! I have created a private Instagram account, which you will have special access to, where myself and some other members of my production teams can post exclusive behind-the-scenes content from the pre-production stages, on set, and the editing / post-production process. Additionally, donors will be mentioned in the credits of each short film.
