hi guys. i am a sad broke student who needs to harness the power of the village to help fund meeko's bladder surgery.

meeko came to me in late september displaying some worrying symptoms: frequent outside-the-litter-box urination, blood in her urine, and obvious signs of pain. we took her to the vet and found out that she has several bladder stones as well as a raging UTI and bladder infection. over the last couple months she has had multiple urine cultures, x-rays, and rounds of bloodwork. like a true champ she has dutifully endured the antibiotics and medicated food. on december 2nd she went to the vet to check on the status of her stones and it was discovered that they have not dissolved and instead need to be surgically removed :( she's developed a resistance to her current antibiotics and needs to undergo one round of a different type while we wait for surgery. the vet gave us cat oxy's so she'll be tripping and pain-free till her surgery.

there was good news today - the vet can fit her in for surgery on december 9th! unfortunately, this surgery is $2247.58. at this point i've already spent $2000 on her appointments and have depleted my savings. i'm embarrassed to ask BUT i love this stupid fat cat and want her to be happy and healthy and not in pain.

what would your donations go toward? paying down this surgery. i've talked to the vet and am not able to be discounted any further, but they're willing to work with me as long as i pay the initial $1200. that will come out of the rest of my savings. i and my family (meeko, angus, and jill) would be so thankful for any help you guys can give. this surgery (cystotomy) has a 100% success rate and she's young (7) so the vet has assured me she'll make a complete recovery and will be free of bladder stones forever.
