Hello my name is Angela
In May of 2016 I had my usual yearly physical and mammogram, everything came back fine. Every month I would complete a self breast exam as I had every month for several years. On September 1st, I discovered a lump in my right breast. I scheduled an appointment to see my doctor and we discussed a biopsy. On September 19th the biopsy was complete, I returned on September 22th and was given the diagnosis of Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Stage 2 Breast Cancer. The room was very quiet and I was motionless, it took several minutes to catch my breath. Those words have and will forever change my life. First the tears, then the anger and now the FIGHT!
From the moment you hear those words "YOU HAVE CANCER" everything races through your head. Who, what, when, where, why and how. I couldn't stop thinking about my husband David and our son Brandon. Just days away from his 18th birthday, a major milestone in his life and knowing that our son will need me more now than ever before.
My cancer has moved into several limpnods and after long discussions with my doctors, chemotherapy was recommended. In preparation for chemo I decided to cut my hair short, keep a smile on my face and fasten my pick ribbon for the ride of a life time.I have strong faith and great hope that I will be able to share my message with others, as well as my love for life and all the blessings it has to offer.
However, over the past month, the financial responsibility has become more and more difficult for me to manage on my own. I hope that you will find it in your heart to help me out in any way possible. No gift or prayer is too small and it will help in my fight.
I will be having my treatments at the Cancer Center of America in Atlanta Georgia.
