Hi everyone, my name is Jo and I’m a doctor from Cornwall, UK.

Like many of us, I have been horrified by the events unfolding in Gaza and have felt powerless to prevent them.

As the holy month of Ramadan begins, let's come together in solidarity with the people of Gaza and show our support for their resilience in the face of adversity. I invite you to join me for a 1-day fast on the first day of Ramadan, 11th March 2024, to raise awareness and funds for UNRWA's vital humanitarian efforts in Gaza.

I will be fasting from dawn until sunset for every day of Ramadan, and if you wish to join me in showing your solidarity with the people of Gaza for longer than one day, please do!

How to Participate:

Commit to fasting from dawn to sunset on the 11th March, or as many hours as you feel able to.

Donate to UNRWA via our GoFundMe page to support their humanitarian work in Gaza. No amount is too small.

Raise awareness and show solidarity by posting on social media using #FastForGaza.

Why Fast?

Fasting is not only a spiritual practice but also a powerful way to empathise with those who face hardship and hunger every day. By voluntarily abstaining from food and drink for a day, we can raise awareness about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and support UNRWA's efforts to provide essential aid to Palestinian refugees.
