Hi, I am Wendell Collen, a farrier, small rancher, husband, father of two college aged kids. On November 14, 2024 I was involved in a freak farrier accident while trimming a horse where I broke my lower left leg in three places resulting in surgery, rods and screws, eight weeks of no weight bearing followed by eight weeks of physiotherapy.
At this point I have funds available to cover two out of the four months I will be out of work. If insurance is approved, it won’t kick in for two months. The uncertainty of my situation has caused myself and my family to realize that our lives may have to change drastically to keep ahead of the bills.
At the moment through help of family and neighbours we will be able to maintain our cow calf operation, at this point our only steady income that pays out once a year. My two businesses that help support our calf income, the farrier business and my Integral Hockey Stick Sales and Repair business have come to a complete stop.
I am hopeful that things will come together through support of friends, family and my community to see us through these tough challenges. Your support is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.
