Hello everyone

My name is Diana and I have a big ask to help the most important person in my life, my momma! This woman has been my rock through thick and thin, she’s a beautiful soul and she’s got a heart of gold.

Not many people know, but my momma has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Adenoma carcinoma.

We’ve recently returned from a trip where they discussed my mommas treatment options with us, she’s going to do a combination of radiation and chemotherapy. 6 weeks, 5 days a week, of both treatments daily.

Our second trip my mom had a scary experience where she exhibited episodes of confusion, which landed us in Richmond hospital as soon as we landed. After two days in emergency they released her so she could attend the urgent biopsy she travelled to Vancouver for, they were eager to have her stay but without her having anymore issues and the urgency of the biopsy they released her and sent many suggestions back home to her Doctor in Kitimat. Unfortunately it happened again after we came home, still not any closer to figuring out what is going on there either. With the treatment they worry about my mom being alone as it’s a possibility that this treatment could make that unresolved situation worse for her, so she needs someone to be with her.

I am very grateful to be able to have the opportunity to be with my mom through this extremely tough time, but I’m not sure how we’re going to make it all work. Treatment starts December 30th, which doesn’t give us much time to get things squared away.

I’m lucky to have some amazing friends and family who love my mom, girls and I so much that they’re willing to help with the girls while I’m gone. So that worry is covered, but the other worry is expenses. Hope Air has been helping with flights and we had one trip (out of three) that they helped with accommodation as well.

This six week trip we are going to be looking into an Airbnb as a hotel won’t be ideal as we want to be able to make our own food, do our laundry, and feel more comfortable in our own space. Realistically it’s cheaper too, looking into it the cheapest one I found is over 2100 (without taxes and cleaning fees).

I won’t be working, I’m hoping I will have the required 600 hours and be able to apply for caregiving ei but that is only $500 a week so $2000 a month. As I only started back to work at the end of August this year I’m not positive I will meet that but will be looking into it.

I’m hoping to raise money to help us so money isn’t a stress we have to worry about while my mom fights one of the toughest battles she will have to fight.

Things money would be going towards while I’m not working:

The biggest is a place to stay for the 6 weeks we are there I’m going to price that between $2,500-$3000

Transportation while we are there, if that’s renting a car or taking cabs or if we have our vehicle than gas for it. Either way it’s going to be an expensive cost.

Necessities such as food, medicine, and hygiene items.

Than also to help with ease for all our back home responsibilities as well, my momma has mortgage payments, bills, and I will need to ensure my girls are taken care of while we’re away.

We where given 23 days notice, and we’re struggling already trying to make the most of what we have now with all the extra expenses as of late.

The amount I have set seems like a lot to me… and I don’t expect to get that… but if we did it would be a huge relief for all of us.

I was at work tonight, talking with some of my regulars and they suggested I give this a go. So this is me shooting my shot, you miss 100% of the ones you do take right? I know this is a hard time of the year for everyone, it’s Christmas, work slows down for some… so I’m not expecting anyone to feel obligated to help… but even the littlest amount would make a huge difference in all our lives

If you’re unable to help financially please say prayers for my momma, the treatment has a 40% chance to work so we need all the prayers and good vibes too! Also give this a share too , every little bit of help means the world in this time for my family!

Thank you for taking the time to read this, I appreciate you! I wish you and yours all the blessings for this year and the year to come .
