Introduction
Hello World! We are Farpoint Station! A new deli, bar & gaming concept looking to open right in the heart of downtown Silver Spring for Mardi Gras 2021. The brains behind this operation are three Silver Spring locals: Carolina Gomez, Patrick Young, and Brendan O'Connor.

Silver Spring. The final frontier. These are the voyages of Farpoint Station. Our continuing mission: to explore strange new facets of Silver Spring’s culture. To seek out new and intriguing ways to serve the community. To boldly go where no one has gone before!
We are three locals who have been working in the area since we were legally able, and have been dreaming of helping Silver Spring realize its full culinary and nightlife potential. Bringing our extensive knowledge and experience to the table, we will create a beloved local watering hole serving high quality deli fare. Everyone loves a well made sandwich, a tasty drink, and games with good friends. Choose to hang out at the bar, play all sorts of games, or enjoy our food wherever you would like!
What Will We Do With Your Generous Donations?
In the near term, we will use our funds to pay for architects, structural engineers, lawyers, starving artists, promotional events, marketing, swag, branding, etc. We are so very excited to make this concept into a reality, and really need your help to do it.

Concept Overview
Farpoint Station can be boiled down to three constituent ingredients: Deli, bar & games. All things that have survived the test of time. With the waxes and wanes of the economy in the past 20 years, we see many industries and businesses having a rough time staying afloat. Not only is the DMV a very recession-proof area, but these three models have also proven to sustain themselves through years of economic depression. When times are tough, there is always comforting food, drinks, and the ability to distract yourself with a good game.
Why have just a deli or just a bar? When the two are combined, it gives the business an opportunity to have a constant revenue stream from 8am-2/3am. If separated, the deli would be mainly profitable from 8am-6pm, and the bar from 6pm-2/3am. The two also work hand in hand. With deli food and drinks available at the same location we will maximize revenue, the more you drink, the more likely you'll have a hankering for something to eat. On the other hand, when you’re eating a sandwich, the ready availability of a great selection of beer, wine and cocktails will convince many diners to stay and indulge.
Our Mezzanine will feature games of all sorts. From console to arcade, board to card, every kind of gaming will be encouraged. There will be 3 main console areas for larger parties, while other games will be more modular and spread out to suit the business that at that particular moment. In addition to our large collection of games in house, we'll be featuring eSports as well as weekly SuperMario tournaments (including a couple with large cash prizes).
We will be located in the newly built Solaire8250 building at 8250 Georgia Ave in Silver Spring, MD. This location is perfect for our concept. It is a brand new space with high ceilings for the mezzanine, outdoor seating, and very easy access to garage parking as well as public transportation. It also has an immediate market of over 1,700 apartment units within 0.1 mile with no deli or sandwich place to support (not to mention another 420 units with the new Ripley II project in the same area). The space will be delivered as an ‘empty shell’ giving us the opportunity to build out exactly as we see fit, and avoid a lot of headaches that go with renovating & refurbishing an existing location.
The Brains Behind Farpoint
Carolina is our Executive Chef extraordinaire. She has had proven success as the chef owner of Straw Stick and Brick Delicatessen in Petworth, DC and unfortunately had to close due to reasons outside of the business's control. Since then, she has been an executive chef at a catering company with millions of dollars of revenue per year, as well as the Mid-Atlantic sales representative for a catering supply company.
Brendan is our main numbers guy, and has been in the restaurant industry since the tender age of 14. He spent years at Churchkey DC, as well as some time managing Bluejacket DC, both multi-million dollar establishments. Currently at AstroLab Brewing a block down the road, he has devoted the past six years to studying beer, the restaurant industry, and patiently waiting for an opportunity to do something of his own.
Similarly, Patrick has been in the restaurant industry since he was 15 and has worked almost every job under the [restaurant] sun. For the last eight years he was a bartender & manager at Silver Spring's beloved Quarry House Tavern. With his beaming personality and extensive use of finger guns, Patrick will be focusing on the front of house, managing personnel, as well as our mezzanine devoted to the gaming world.
All three of us are eager and excited to take a leap, and do something that will not only benefit ourselves, friends & family; but the whole Silver Spring area, and hopefully extending to the whole DMV.
