Fire Destroys 30 Year Old Family Business
On the morning of February 26th, a fire came through the building in which over 30 years of my parents livelihood was contained. An explosion occurred in a business that was operated from another section of the same building, and quickly spread. It took over five hours, and 75 fire fighters from 12 companies to put the fire out. My father started his auto upholstery business when I was five years old, and wherever we lived he always quickly established himself as one of the best, if not the best, in his trade. My mother joined him full time when I was 15 years old, and together they have sustained their entire lives by providing affordable, beautiful, high quality work. Being in the process of moving into a new home, this fire not only consumed their work space (and the equipment therein)....but also where most of their personal belongings, including the majority of their clothing, were being stored. The mere shock of this event has been devastating to my family. Being that this is their sole source of income, and this process will take time, it is imperative that they are able to continue to sustain life. If you have met my parents even once, you already know the kind, generous, and caring people that they are. Always willing to give what they have even when they barely have anything. Always reaching past offering thoughts and prayers, and trying their hardest to help meet the needs of others. I am not only asking, but begging, for any donation you are able to/willing to offer to help my parents in this time. Thank you, with all my heart, in advance.
