Path to the PGA Tour
Donation protected
Hello and thank you for your interest in my GoFundMe page! My name is Ethan Farnam and my dream is to be one of the best golfers in the world. I have played the game all my life and am finally ready to make a run at a professional career. At the moment, this dream of being the best is only a dream and I know a lot of hard work and help is needed in order to achieve anything great. No matter if you are a donor, possible sponsor or investor, or someone who is just interested in what I am doing, I hope you can take the time to go through the information provided on this page. This information will give you a better idea of who I am and how I plan to turn dreams into reality.
Why GoFundMe:
- I never needed cash to pursue the next step in golf until now
- The price of living, training, and playing high level events is beyond my means
- GoFundMe offers a transparent vehicle of looking at my current situation and how dollars are being utilized
- I am open to investments and sponsorships besides donations and will listen to any and all proposals.
Up to this point in my golf career, I have been the beneficiary of extreme generosity when it comes to the game of golf. Things like gear, practice facilities, courses to play, tournament trips, scholarships for school, etc. have all been provided to me. I never took these things for granted, always had a job when feasible and, together with my parents, I was thankfully financially able to navigate my amateur golf career.
My Path
Now that I am ready to begin the first professional chapter of my career, I know that results can quickly change my life forever and the road to professional golf is expensive. This is both inspiring and scary since one good week could cut an entire year off the PGA Tour path process as well as pay for my next tournament. But, a string of bad weeks could leave me struggling financially and out of options. I have already begun my post-college training. Greatness comes with a hefty price tag. I need to pay for high-level coaching, training facilities, as well as entry fees into PGA qualifying events and other professional tournaments. The comfort stage of amateur golf is over and it is time to do everything I can to achieve my lifelong dream of making the PGA Tour.
How You Can Help:
After much research into the financial end of starting out as a professional golfer, I have decided that establishing an LLC and setting up this GoFundMe page is the best route to get me through Qualifying School. I am open to hearing about investment ideas and sponsorships opportunities. However, at this stage, monetary (tax-deductible) gifts and gifts-in-kind will be the most beneficial.
Monetary Donations:
GoFundMe is not only a credible entity, but also has the functionality that makes it easy for me to raise money quickly and have quick access as well. GoFundMe also allows me to attach links and information so people can follow me along my journey and see how their money is being put to use. The donation goal is arbitrary, as I am hoping to raise enough money to support my golf career through 2022.
Spending Money:
If I were a donor or investor, I would love to know exactly how the money I give will be utilized. I have attached some estimates below to show exactly where and what I will be spending money on as well as the total price tag on the year. The schedule and the training items can certainly change a lot during the year but hopefully this shows how easy it is to spend thousands of dollars in a short time frame.
With regard to the tournament costs, the “travel and preparation cost” encompasses getting to and from the event, food and lodging during the event, plus practice rounds and practice sessions at the venue prior to the event. For training costs, I would say these are very rough estimates at the moment and it will take time and research in order to create a PGA Tour caliber team in my corner.

Other than these costs I have my own personal living expenses. For as long as I am in need of money I will also do my best to hold a wage job in order to cover any and all non-golf related expenses in my life. The money I receive through donations and investments will specifically be used for golf and nothing else.
Gifts-In-Kind:
As I will be on the road, gifts-in-kind would be helpful as well.
Examples of beneficial gifts:
- Housing during tournament play
- Use of practice or training facilities (hosting me at your golf club so I may practice when on the road)
- Gas gift cards
- Restaurant gift cards
- Retail gift cards for necessities (soap, shampoo, etc..)
Sponsorships and Investments:
I am eagerly open to sponsorships which could be money given in return to host a logo on my bag, shirt or hat or for companies to provide a product to wear or use that I post on social media for marketing and publicity. If you would like like to sponsor me, please contact me below.
I welcome the opportunity to hear what plans an investor would ideally have for his money. Each investment can be treated as its own separate loan with its own rules and regulations that will best match the person investing, the amount of money they invest, and the time they would like their money to be associated with Ethan Farnam’s golf results. If you would like like to discuss investment ideas, please contact me below.
