Hi, my name is Stephanie, and I’m hoping to raise funds for my friends Julia, Nicola and their mum Mary, who own Farmyard Friends CIC.

Farmyard Friends is an animal therapy farm set up as a place of sanctuary for children/adults with additional needs, based in the village of Messingham.

Over the past 2 weeks, utter devastation has hit the farm. On Sunday 29th March, a freak weather event (apparently a tornado) hit causing multiple wooden buildings to collapse. Luckily no animals were injured.

Julia and her family had just started to get these rebuilt with the kind help of local volunteers.

Things started to get back on track.

But then on Monday morning of 6th April, she went to feed all her animals only to find 4 turkeys and 8 sheep missing.

Thieves had broken in and taken them.

This has completely broken the family.

All the animals have a special place in their hearts, with a story and names. They are pets.

Julia is a single mum who runs the farm alongside caring for her 2 sons with additional needs. She spends 7 days a week there, rarely gets a day off, and does it for the love of the animals and the joy they bring to people who spend time with them.

As a friend I’ve felt helpless. Not knowing how I could support.

The police have recommended having some security cameras put up. So that’s what I’m hoping to raise funds for. It will hopefully give them peace of mind going forward.
