Green Ark Farms: Rwanda

GREEN ARK FARMS was founded with a clear mission: to end hunger one household at a time through sustainable methods. Our team is deeply committed to making a change in Rwanda, Africa, where more than 50% of key crops are wasted each year due to a lack of resources and infrastructure. With nearly 25 years of experience in food preservation, I was inspired to use my skills and training to address this urgent problem. The vision for GREEN ARK FARMS came from a desire to find true purpose and to serve others by reducing food waste and increasing food security.

We are raising funds to purchase essential farming supplies like shovels, wheelbarrows, rakes, and drip line irrigation, as well as additional freeze-dryers and to pay for tariffs on our shipping container. By freeze-drying overflow crops that would otherwise go to waste, we can preserve food for longer periods and distribute it to families in need. The more equipment we have, the greater our impact—helping to ensure that nutritious food reaches more homes and fewer crops are lost.
