Farm Sanctuary Needs a Trailer&Winter Supplies

Tax deductible
For those who didn't know, Nick and I set out on an adventure back in August to travel cross country and see our families. We got an RV so we could feel safe, and our families would feel safe with our travels due to the pandemic.

While in Vermont,  driving back from the country side, we found a calf in the road late at night who had escaped a cattle farm. It was very dark and she was all black, we didn't want someone hitting her, so we stayed with her and got her safely off the road.  The locals in the area were able to contact the farmer, and when they showed up  we learned that this little 5month old calf had escaped before.

I couldn't stop thinking about her sweet eyes, the way she connected with me when I sang to her on the side of the road, and her will to escape her ultimate fate.  I asked Nick if we could figure out a way to save her and make her ours.  His response was of course yes (because he is the best!), but with the question "where are we going to keep her?!", which is where Little Red Barn Farm Sanctuary comes in. They are a small, local Vermont Farm Sanctuary in Tunbridge, VT who rescues abused and neglected animals and gives them a second chance at life.

I reached out to Missy and Steve, the Sanctuary owners, and they generously agreed to take her in and have her live on the property. We spent a lot of time at the Sanctuary getting to know them, their other resident animals, and making sure our little calf was adjusting well to her new life.  It was emotional and it expanded our hearts the day we got to remove Judith's (thats her name!) farm tags from her ears.

Missy and Steve are two of the most selfless, empathetic, generous and noble people we have ever met. They are in need of a trailer to be able to transport the animals if need be for medical issues, and supplies for winter. So this year for my birthday, and November being the season of giving thanks, I'm raising money to benefit Little Red Barn Farm Sanctuary. Any donation will help get them closer to being able to continuously provide for these animals.

Donate here through GoFundMe, via their website  https://www.littleredbarnfarm.org/donate, or venmo @Missy-Gilbert-2 .

Thank you in advance for your contribution to this Sanctuary, who gave our little calf the chance to live. It means so much to me, Nick and little Judith!
