Yali’s battle for life was long and her family made her their priority for 12 years. I’d like to make Yali’s family OUR priority as they prepare to say goodbye to her. I was Yali’s teacher during her 4th and 5th grade school years. I also took the family on Yali’s Make-a-Wish trip to New York state for her wish trip to the headquarters of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Every day I look at a framed photo of Yali and me - it sits on my shelf at work. It now looks different to me.
