As one of Caroline’s close friends. I’ve set up this fundraiser for Caroline, Corey, Emily and Jay after the heartbreaking loss of Brian “Squizzy” Taylor.

Anyone who knew Squizzy knew how much he gave to people.

He gave countless hours to surfing, beach safety, to kids, to clubs, to events and to the wider community. He coached, encouraged, mentored and quietly helped wherever he could, never making a fuss about it and never expecting anything in return.

For so many young surfers, especially here on Yorkes, Squizzy was simply part of growing up around the ocean. He helped create opportunities, brought people together and made sure kids had the chance to get in the water, learn, improve and love the ocean and surfing as much as he did.

More than all of that, he was a deeply loved husband, dad, mate and one of those genuinely good people who leaves a huge hole behind. I think he was the most calm and steady person I’ve ever met and his loss with be felt hard by a lot of people, especially his family.

It’s already clear that there are going to be a lot of people wanting to come together to say goodbye to Squizzy. This fundraiser is to help Caroline and the family cover the cost of his funeral and the large farewell needed to accommodate the community that loved him, and ease some of the financial pressure on them during such a difficult time.

Squizzy spent so much of his life giving to others. This is our chance to give a little back to his family.

Any contribution, big or small, will be deeply appreciated.
