My wife Farah, is soon to be a landed immigrant here in Canada. She has been in the United Kingdom for the last two years as I couldn't obtain OHIP coverage from the Canadian government even on compationate grounds. Farah and I were married here in Canada on April 14, 2012. Two years later Farah returned to England to look after her ailing parents and in the interim fell severly ill herself. I tried to bring her home but to no avail as she wasn't yet a landed immigrant. I have done everthing possible to bring Farah home and finally the Canadian immigration is bringing her home in the next month or two. The problem is when she lands she needs heamo dyalisis three times a week as she is in kidney failure awaiting a donor. (i myself have been going through tests to see if i can be that donor). Even though she will be a landed immigrant there is a 90 day waiting period for the OHIP coverage to kick in. I have contacted the hospital here to see how much each treatment will cost. The cost is 900.00 dollars per treament 3 times a week times four times three months, then her coverage will kick in. The problem here is I dont have this money and this will bankrupt us.
I am asking for fifty thousand in case of any emergencies. The actual cost of dyalisis will be 32000.00. you dont ask this lightly and if there was any other way I would attack that task.
This is an excerpt from a letter to immigration from her head renal doctor in the UK. Dr. Iggo.
"most of Farah's ties are now in Canada, i am concerned that her dyalisis treatment will be sub-optimal if she has to remain alone in the UK without her Canadian families support and that her health will deteriorate unnessessarily if she has to spend any longer away from them"
If we can't facillatate this mission, she will have to go back to the UK for ninety days and I am afraid the stress of a dual flight with in one week could be disasterous to her health even possibly fatal.
This would mean so much to us if Farah could land here and remain permantly and be cared for in this 90 day window, anything you can spare would be greatly appreciated and you would have our undying gratitude. We as the soul mates we are can finally be together again as it should be.
