Farah Delgado's Memorial Plaque Fund
Donation protected
On July 31st, 2021, our beloved Farah passed away at just 21 years old. She was one of the kindest and most genuine people, with a heart of gold, the brightest smile, and a laugh that everyone who knew her will never forget. Farah deeply loved her family and friends, and she made sure everyone she spoke to felt heard and cared for. She touched the lives of everyone around her. She was such a wonderful person, and the world was a happier place while she was in it.
Farah was passionate about public health and helping underserved communities, and had a particular interest in providing greater access to quality pediatric care for those without access. Farah graduated with a Health Science degree from Boston University's Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (Class of 2021). She touched many students, faculty, and staff during her time at BU, and will forever be greatly missed.
In honor of Farah, we would like to place a plaque in her name on a tree on the Esplanade and dedicate a nearby bench to her as well. We have chosen this as a way to have her live on through the annual blossoming of the trees by the river and through the beautiful colors of the autumn leaves, so that her life and the impact she had on others may be memorialized and remembered for years to come. The bench will be a wonderful addition for those who are visiting her tree to sit nearby on her bench and reflect on memories shared. The City of Boston requires a donation of $2,500 to sponsor an existing tree for 10 years and a donation of $5,000 to sponsor a bench for 10 years. This means that if we get to $7,500, we can sponsor the tree and a bench dedicated to her! The donation will be used by the city of Boston to pay for the plaque and maintenance, so we are asking for your help to get us to that goal. Please help us reach our goal so that we can install a plaque on a tree on the Esplanade & dedicate a bench in loving memory of Farah.
