Respiratory Therapists play a vital role on healthcare teams with knowledge in many areas including, mechanical ventilation, anesthesia, cardiopulmonary diseases, managing airways and so much more. As students of Fanshawe College Respiratory Therapy class of 2026, we are very honored to be presented with a unique opportunity to put our knowledge into practice for our medical mission to Guatemala in June of 2025. During our time on this mission, we will be assisting with a variety of healthcare services across various clinics to help improve the lives of those in need and we would greatly appreciate any support to make this mission possible!
Not only does this medical mission help to positively improve the health for the people of Guatemala, but it also helps to strengthen our skills as future Respiratory Therapists. On this trip, we will be gaining valuable hands-on experience treating patients of another culture where we will learn to adapt to new environments and challenges. We will be working with patients of all ages, ensuring they get the proper care and treatment that they deserve, which may not be possible without our support. The donations that we collect from this fundraiser will be helping with the costs of medical supplies, travel expenses and other necessities.
