Fannie's Survive and Thrive Fund!!

Earlier in the year, our beloved Fannie, had their trust violently broken and the safety of their living situation compromised in a serious way by someone they loved and held close. The fallout of this act of anti-blackness, thrust Fannie into a several month's long housing crisis and heartache.

Finding affordable housing in Portland is one thing, finding affordable housing in a pandemic is an even bigger hurdle, finding safe and affordable as a self-employed Black artist, is a whole 'nother obstacle!!

The process of being violently unhoused has taken an emotional and financial toll on Fannie in ways that go beyond words and numbers. Their former friend and roommate also locked Fannie out of their business accounts and website domain; keeping them from an income stream and Fannie's clients from their access to supplies.

After months of housing and financial instability, Fannie was able to find a place for them and sweet Momo (their dog) to settle and start healing from what's happened.

Then, few weeks later, they were in a car accident where the other driver was at fault and subsequently called the c*ps on Fannie. Beyond the trauma of having to interact with those people, Fannie is now having to seek consistent medical care for their injuries. The concussion alone has kept them from many daily activities and added to the difficulty of getting settled in their new home.

With their pandemic unemployment benefits also in the bureaucratic toilet, this could not have happened at a worse time :(

We are raising funds to cover the following:

Rent
Medication
Auto insurance deductible & also their rate going up
Momo's Vet bills
Food
Furnishing for their new place
Lost wages
Replacement of Dj equipment

We must do everything within our power to keep Black queer and trans artists in Chinook ancestral lands (“Portland”) safe, housed, resourced, and in a position to THRIVE!

It is imperative that we all find tangible, sustainable ways to participate in reparations every day.
