In total silence, a producer sat down and watched season one of FANGS. After he finished, I prepared myself for every possible negative critique I imagined he would say; I was a nervous wreck. Instead, he looked at me and complimented us on creating a cohesive and character-driven story by very talented actors who deserve serious attention, attention that he is prepared to help us get.

As a sign of good faith, he made a personal contribution to season 2 and is willing to help us secure the opportunity to either expand FANGS or create something new but with a bigger budget, provided that season 2 is done just as well as the first. Not only is he a businessman, but he is also a fan of the series and is very interested in seeing where the story goes, which is fantastic news.

Initially, we were supposed to have started and finished filming in June, but a number of us fell ill and were forced to postpone production until October. Rather than feeling defeated, I decided to see this as an opportunity to A) make sure we have absolutely everything that we need to deliver a high quality product and B) raise the necessary funds to make sure we can accomplish goal A.

While FANGS does boast a very diverse cast, I would like the focus to fall on the fact that everyone involved is capable, talented and deserving of an opportunity to show what they can do; from co-writing, directing, and musical scoring to acting.

Season 2 has more episodes that are longer and will answer all of the questions of season one. Italian female actresses/directresses (my word :)) will direct several episodes, and we will also showcase donated works by local minority artists (fashion designers, musicians, caterers, painters) to promote their products and creations in select episodes. The goal is to establish a collective of creators who work together and support one another.

We have persevered through many ups and downs, but now we are incredibly close to achieving our goal. Anything from a kind word to a donation of any size would be inspiring as it will remind us that we have people behind us who are supporting our endeavour.
