Hi Friends and Family,
Thanksgiving weekend John started to experience extreme pain in his hip and leg. The following week his oncologist confirmed after an MRI that his cancer had returned. This time a lesion sitting on a nerve cluster on his sacrum (hip). Hence the intense sciatica pain shooting down his right leg.
His oncologist started him right away on an immunotherapy trial drug called LSK. This combined with another treatment called opdivo that he gets once every two weeks. Fast forward 3 weeks and he started experiencing pain in his right arm, after another MRI it was confirmed he has yet another lesion. Keeping the same treatment plan in place and will have another MRI at the end of the month. If no progress Chemo will begin. He will also have the lesion on his hip radiated on here in a couple weeks over at UCLA.
So why the go fund me page? John was laid off from his job at the end of September and I was laid off from my job on November 1st. I've exhausted most of my savings on Cobra payments, RX's (we're at Rite Aid everyday, they know us by name- nice folks), compound RX's that are very costly even with insurance, and all of life's living expenses and bills. Any help would be appreciated. I know some of you might not even know whats been going on, John doesn't want anyone to worry or feel sorry for him. He's got a great attitude going into this whole mess for the 3rd time. Lastly, when I gain employment I will donate what we've earned here to the American Cancer Society as a thank you to everyone. <3
