I'm raising money for several purposes:
The most pressing, current project is to raise funds for clean up and improvements for the Tyler Cemetery in Roxbury and for the Vandermark Family Cemetery in Debruce, NY. Some things that need to be done are: map each cemetery; clean headstones in each cemetery; repair broken headstones in each cemetery; investigate the possibility of x-raying each cemetery to identify invisible graves and headstones. There's more, but that's enough to start. The labor for this will, hopefully, be voluntary, but there will be expenses for materials and possible equipment rental.
Future uses:
- 1. The expenses for continuing family history research: travel, memberships in online resources, books and documents, etc.
- 2. Upkeep on my computer for the above purposes.
- 3. For a program I want to offer to genealogical societies and groups which would make it easier for everyone to access the information they're collecting; namely a laptop for them, genealogical software for them to contain and organize their genealogical information and a way for others to access that information.
