Hello everyone, my name is Meg. On Saturday, July 23rd my sister Amber and her boyfriend Jonathan ( my brother ) experienced a traumatic accident that almost cost them their lives. They were riding a scooter home at roughly 5 AM when a driver speeding struck them, causing both Amber and Jonathan to fly off the scooter and suffer from severe injuries. Amber and Jonathan spent her 25th birthday in a hospital fighting for their lives.

The impact was very intense; Amber suffered from deep gashes all over her body, including a very large one on her head that needed 48 stitches, a broken shoulder, air in her lung (at risk of collapsing) and 4 broken teeth. Jonathan received a blood transfusion immediately when the EMS arrived, as he was losing blood due to internal bleeding. Upon hospital arrival, Jonathan received emergency surgery for a ruptured spleen, kidney and pancreas. More recently, he underwent second major surgery and blood transfusion due to more internal bleeding.

Amber and Jonathan are very much loved by family and friends. We are so grateful to still have them here with us after such a tragedy.

At this moment, Amber and Jonathan are unable to work or receive any compensation, as Amber is currently unemployed and Jonathan was working off the books. The co-payments on medical bills and household bills are beginning to pile up and they also need to provide for their 4 year old son. It will take some time till they are fully recovered and ready to work, so we come here in hopes that we can help them get back on their feet.
