My best friend Michael (Mike) McCann passed on Christmas morning 2021 after a relentless two-year battle against esophageal cancer. He was 43 years young. Mike was a beloved son, wise and caring brother, loving husband, and amazing father to his three daughters.
The outpouring of support for the McCann family has been simply inspiring. Each and every generous effort is cherished. Mike worked incredibly hard to build a future for his family, and as one could imagine, the financial implications of Mike’s passing are staggering. This is an effort to consolidate the outpouring of generosity for the McCann family, and to provide some relief for the weeks, months, and years to come.
Please consider donating to help Mike’s wife, Christina (Tina), and their three incredible girls as they navigate forward without their larger-than-life soulmate and girl-dad. These donations will go directly to the McCann family to cover daily expenses and recurring bills.
A little bit about Mike - Mike lit up every room he entered. He was always there with a story, a joke, a word of advice, or an ear to listen. He was a diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan and loved spending time outdoors, fishing, shooting, camping, building bonfires, and swimming in the ocean. He never missed his girls’ games and could be found cheering on the sidelines, or coaching. Mike was also a consummate prankster, hiding rubber snakes to lay in wait for unassuming victims, myself included.
Mike grew up in Hazlet, NJ, and for the last eight years, he resided with his beautiful family in Middletown. Tina, Michael’s wife, is a fantastic Public School nurse, previously serving in Keansburg and now Middletown for the last several years. Mike’s family were small business owners for decades in this tight-knit community. Here, Mike worked for his father as a plumber and gained priceless experience. He was always willing to offer advice and repair to help friends, neighbors, or anyone else in need.
In 2007, Mike was hired by Precision Pipeline Solutions (PPS). This is where I met Mike and we instantly became friends. Mike was a dedicated and inspiring leader who sought perfection in every endeavor. I am proud of Mike and his accomplishments. It has been said that you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. Mike was one of my five.
Thank you for your love, support, and generosity.
