Betsy Martin turns 60 today.  Some of you may remember Betsy from her hosting of many events in Kaministiquia, and others of you may know of her from her writing and song-writing (at Womonwrites).  

In lieu of birthday wishes Betsy has asked her friends to offer donations to support her nephew and his family, Joe and Anna Smith. Two weeks before Easter there was a murder/suicide in Anna’s family and five children were left without parents.  Joe and Anna are now raising four of these children along with three of their own.  Theirs is  a compassionate but daunting effort and in honour of Betsy's croning, and in the name of supporting women who are victims of domestic violence, I would like to encourage you to contribute to this fund all proceeds of which will be sent to Joe and Anna.
