Family Running a Food Delivery Service

My husband was an executive chef at an Inn for four years. He was a one man operation and drove profits up drastically. 
When COVID-19 asked food businesses to switch to take out, the Inn decided to close instead, laying him off.

He tried for a week to get his unemployment interview, but the traffic was overwhelming and the phones message was always the same: please call back.

We have four little kids and I wasn't about to let our only income fall through. It was clear we couldn't rely on unemployment and the only message we got from the Inn was that it would open when things "settled down." When would that be? How would we buy food in the interim?

I asked Jordan if he knew of a commercial facility he could prepare food in. He did! And we decided to make meals that we could deliver to the rural towns we live in and near.

The concept is simple. He makes one meal with two options (meat or veg) and delivers two days a week. Delivery takes awhile, since some of the towns are about 45 minutes away, but I refused to charge extra and kept meal costs low. We aren't the only ones struggling.

As interest piqued, I knew we needed to make this business legitimate. This GoFundMe campaign will help us with the capital to start and allow us to continue making some income.

We have been humbled by the amount of people cheering us on. Words can't express how grateful we are. Maybe food can? :)
