On the morning of November 24, 2019, my sister and I received a heartbreaking telephone call at an early hour of the morning to learn our mother, Kathryn Turner, and step-father, Lawrence Turner, Jr. , of Bensalem, PA, both lost everything they own in a devastating apartment fire that spanned 8 apartments in the complex. Not only did they lose the staples such as furniture and clothing but almost all personal memorabilia and belongings were charred beyond recovery as they resided in one of the upper units that experienced the most damage. We are incredibly thankful they were not physically hurt; however, they have a long journey and recovery ahead of them.

Today I am grateful for platforms like gofundme that allow people to lean to friends and family for support. I created this gofundme campaign to share my family's struggle with the hope of receiving contributions and support for building a foundation for the challenge ahead of them.  Monetary donations and gift cards will allow them to replenish their basic necessities this holiday season.
